Some Were Neighbors: Collaboration and Complicity in the Holocaust
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
To mark the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s 20th anniversary, the Museum and G&A developed a unique exhibition that explores the collaboration and complicity of individuals and communities through dynamic first person storytelling. The visitor is confronted with Nazi Germany’s persecution and murder of Jews. Through a series of questions and images, visitors are engaged to decide how they might have reacted to a particular situation and what choices they would have made. Looking at the events of the Holocaust through the theme of collaboration and complicity provides insight into the complexity surrounding human behavior and the Holocaust.
