We are looking for a Mid to Senior level UX Designer to design software and platforms that meet our client’s needs. You will combine compelling interfaces and user flows to enhance the user experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Years of Experience

  • At least 2 years graduate-level education in the UX or UX-related field
  • At least 5 years professional experience performing UX for content-driven design 

Designing for Content-Driven, Interpretive, Experience Design

  • Your portfolio and experience must demonstrate potential and/or ability to perform UX capability within the context of interpretive museum and interpretive experience design. 
  • Ability to collaborate with content strategists to develop information architecture and content hierarchies
  • Ability to think technically and creatively while collaborating with a wide range of creative partners including exhibition designers, graphic designers,creative technologists
  • Designing for responsive displays and integrated technologies in a physical space

Foundations of UX (Best Practices) 

  • Demonstrated ability in User Research Analysis (synthesis & insights)
  • Deep understanding of UX principles and methods
  • Familiarity with ADA, Web Accessibility & Inclusive Design Standards

Expertise in User-Centered Design process

  • Demonstrated expertise in co-design, brainstorming and ideation sketching
  • Demonstrated skills in collaborative tools such as Figma, Google Jamboard, Miro

User Research and Analysis

  • Experience designing and facilitating user research & testing
  • Experience performing synthesis and analysis of user research for the purposes of guiding design development and technical implementation

 

Personas & Journey Mapping (Service Design Tools)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating and working with visitor personas to identify and communicate user needs within projects.
  • Proficiency in developing User Journey Mapping to communicate intent for holistic experience design

User Flows and Information Architecture + Content Driven Design

  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing, labeling and defining hierarchies in content driven projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate experience design intent with User Flows diagrams. 

Interaction Design & Technical Documentation

  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating wireframes at varying levels of fidelity with software including Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated proficiency in producing Interaction design prototypes using  software including Figma,  InVision, Adobe AfterEffects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building and maintaining documentation to communicate design features to software developers.

Visual Design & Representation 

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design abilities including sensitivity to typography, color, and composition
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Front End Programming & Human Computer Interaction design 

  • Working knowledge of HTML and front end coding practices. 
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of new and developing technologies

  • A willingness to combine conceptual thinking with the crafting of the work itself

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary design studio (including 3D/Environmental designers, UX designers, visual designers, content designers, film directors & motion designers, and software developers)
  • Deliver compelling UX design on projects. Work as part of a team under the supervision of a senior designer/director to deliver user experience design for a variety of interactive experiences including screen-based onsite experiences, gesture/voice based experiences, interactive sculptural installations, AR/VR storytelling, and web and mobile app design.
  • Bring User Experience to the next level. A strong UX portfolio with practical and strategic solutions. 
    • Find the best tools to prototype at different stages of the creative process
    • Propose innovative ideas for our clients based on cutting edge technology
    • Find new and creative ways to give the end-user a compelling experience. 
  • Human Centered Design approach. Brainstorm and design concepts for interactive and immersive experiences.
    • Create visitor journey maps and service design elements
    • Create flowcharts and schematic designs of interactive experiences
    • Create detailed wireframes for interactive experiences
  • Be the bridge between physical and digital. Translate concepts into tangible visuals, spatial, and technical requirements.
    • Be a storyteller 
    • Be an evangelist of UX inside and outside the company. 
    • Help everyone understand the importance of user experience design
  • Collaborate efforts to evolve UX vision and outputs. Work with the UX Director to understand market needs & vision.
    • Help to build a strong team 
    • Mentor UX interns
